ABOUT JUPEB

Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is an Advanced Level program supervised, coordinated and moderated by University of Lagos (UNILAG). It allows successful students to get admitted into 200L in any Nigerian Universities. It’s a 9-10 months program, after which a direct entry form will be obtained for 200 level admission processing. It is designed to solve problems of admission for candidates seeking admission into Nigeria University instead of JAMB.

It is also a perfect substitution for school leavers who couldn’t meet up with the JAMB/UTME rigorous challenges faced in processing admission into Tertiary Institution in Nigeria. With the right combination of subjects/courses,

The JUPEB result grading ranges from
A- 5 points
B- 4 points
C- 3 points

Business Studies – c = 3 Points
Total = 13 (Additional 1 Point is added for not getting an “F”)

What is JUPEB A’ Level Programme?
The Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) is a national examinations body approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria in December 2013. It was formally established in April 2014 by a consortium of ten (10) partnering universities led by the University of Lagos.

The board has the responsibility of conducting common and standard examinations for the candidates, who have been exposed to a minimum of one-year approved courses in the different Universities’s Foundation and/or Diploma Programmes and are seeking Direct Entry admissions into University courses at the 200 Level in Nigerian and partnering foreign universities.

The first of such examinations was conducted in August 2014 and successful candidates were admitted into 200 Level by JAMB based on recommendations from the universities. With effect from 2015, JUPEB Examinations hold in June annually.
